I use Thunderbird for my email and only just now remembered that it can also read feeds. I tried it's capabilities out and am quite liking it at the moment. New entries arrive like new mail under the blog name in a special section separated from your email, and the message can display the actual web page if you like it that way. I'll be trying this out too!

Keep in mind that with any feed reader, you are not limited to blogs. I've started receiving Google news feeds for the sections I'm interested in (Top Stories, Entertainment, etc.,) and can leave out the sections I'm not interested in such as Sports!
